We are proud to have taken part in the 29th UMA International Trade Fair that took place from 3rd to 10th October at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo.

While the Trade Fair ran under the theme: “Driving Manufacturing and Trade Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation”, we participated under the sub-theme: “Welcome to the Sure Side of Life’’ with an aim of demonstrating how Insurance works.

Throughout the week, we were graced by the presence of heavyweights from the Insurance Industry including but not limited to our CEO – Jonan Kisakye, Executive Committee Member - Dan Musiime, ICEA Lion Life Assurance CEO – Emmanuel Mwaka and Alliance Africa General Insurance CEO – Ashok Mishra.

Our Tent received guests from all walks of life including students whom we engaged on Insurance in a bid to sow the seeds of Insurance in them at a young age. We are therefore happy to have enlightened many guests & exhibitors about insurance and its benefits.

As sponsors, we took part in the official opening of the Trade Fair that was officiated by the Vice President of Uganda, H.E. Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, on behalf of the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. We were represented by CEOs: Jonan Kisakye, Ashok Mishra and Emmanuel Mwaka & our Market Development Manager – Ms. Annet Katusiime.

We were also active in the different discussion sessions. Notably, in one of the sessions focused on the risks that traders face, we were represented by Executive Committee Member - Mr. Dan Musiime who proposed to Hon. Harriet Ntabazi – State Minister for Trade the formation of a risk pool to protect traders which is something that UIA can implement as a solution by galvanizing the members sighting the Local Marine Cargo Insurance which is of value to anyone who is importing goods.

Our Tent was also abuzz with giveaways as many guests walked away with gift hampers.
