On 18th August, 2023, UIA hosted the Quarterly Club Cocktail Event at our office premises: Insurers House in Kololo. The colorful CLUB Cocktail was themed: Elevate & Unwind: Navigating the future of insurance and was sponsored by Clarkson Insurance Brokers & Max Dental. Notably, our Board Members: Vice Chairperson – Mr. Paul Muwanga and Executive Committee Members: Mr. Gabriel Kuria and Mr. Dan Musiime graced the event.

At the Cocktail, our CEO – Jonan Kisakye stressed the critical role of the Insurance Brokers stating that over 30% of the industry premiums are generated through them. He noted that such events bring the insurance industry players closer and that the CLUB Event is also aimed at clearing out any arising issues, understanding the risks better, how to service insurance clients better and how to pay claims more promptly.

Our Vice-Chairman – Mr. Paul Muwanga spoke about the vitality of the Quarterly CLUB event as an opportunity for underwriters to meet in a relaxed environment, network and share about challenges and future ideas. He therefore called for more representation from both the insurers & brokers at the CLUB events moving forward.

Speaking on behalf on the Brokers, the IBAU Vice Chairperson – Mrs. Ritah Kabayiza Mutesi quoted Mother Tereza: “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things” adding that CLUB is a true manifestation that brokers & insurers need each other.

The CLUB Cocktail was fun-packed with activities like an Insurance Quiz that saw the winners rewarded with UIA gift hampers. 

There was no shortage of entertainment thanks to Iwera Band.

CLUB is a committee that brings together underwriters. The underwriters consist of Insurers under the Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) & Insurance Brokers under the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda (IBAU).
