The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) has held two-day training for the Safe Boda Trainers with the aim of equipping them with knowledge on Motor Third Party Insurance Policy. The training took place at the Safe Boda Academy in Kyebando.
Speaking during the training, UIA Chief Executive Officer Jonan Kisakye commended the UIA Technical Team for conducting the training and appreciated the Safe Boda Trainers & Management for taking part and supporting the partnership.
He stressed the need to clear the air around Motor Third Party Insurance with most people still calling it a tax. He added that it’s critical that the insurance industry continues to engage the masses directly especially on the Claims aspect that will help the public appreciate the Motor Third Party Insurance cover better, knowing that it indeed works for them.
“I want to commend Safe Boda for allowing you to be trained on Motor Third Party Insurance which is very important for all riders. We expect you to be ambassadors after this training and let us spread the right message about the Motor Third Party.”
Kisakye is optimistic that with such training and other partnerships, the Motor Third Party Insurance message will be clearly put across highlighting the key components of the cover, its benefits and what Motor Third Party Insurance actually stands for.
He challenged the Safe Boda trainers to fully equip those below them with the necessary information. Through the partnership, UIA and Safe Boda will hold periodical training to keep the team updated.
Also in attendance were UIA Technical Manager Non-Life – Juliet Igonu, Technical Assistant, Non-Life - Gilbert Emojong and Hudson Mabirizi from Liberty Uganda.
